Strengthening community through story
The Suspicious Fish provides our participants with the space, the structure, the giggles, and the awe.
Our participants undertake their personal exploration of various storytelling mediums as they develop both their individual and collective narratives.
Our Impact
Since 2008, Suspicious Fish has worked in the Verdun community and other surrounding areas in the southwest. Our programming, whether it be in our own space, through outreach, or online, focuses on delivering encouraging and fun approaches to engage participants of all ages to develop and share their stories.
The Suspicious Fish has published roughly one thousand stories. We really wanted to add an exclamation mark after that last line, but we don’t like to brag.
That reflects how many members of our community have taken part in our programming, how many stories have been written, and how many stories are out there. We’ve only just begun to help make this impact of strengthening community through story.
The Suspicious Fish Activities
Our programming and activities focus on storytelling. Through this medium, we are able to address base literacy growth. We introduce and expose our participants to the impact storytelling can have on an individual and their community.
Well, well, well, what do we have here?
